Discipleship

Dear Reader,

Discipleship is a forgotten principle in Christianity today. In Acts 11 Luke states that the Disciples were first called Christians at Antioch. So, take this and find a deeper meaning; if you are a Christian then you should be a Disciple.

Luke 9:23 says if you desire to follow Jesus then deny yourself, take up your cross daily, and follow him. This is full Discipleship. He places a value on each person who follows him in this verse. He gives them purpose by telling them to deny themselves, compare to James 4:6, for salvation, take up their crosses, being willing to be hated, rejected, and lonely till death, and follow him, not through life, but to Golgotha to die.

These are the laws of Discipleship. Denying yourself, taking up your cross, and follow him; Salvation, willingness, and submission. This is what we as Christians must be willing to do. It is a daily thing that consumes our lives.
